Julie is the proud owner and founder of Tame Your Mane, celebrating the salon’s 30th year in 2025. Since opening in 1995, she has built a salon rooted in creativity, warmth, and community, a place where clients feel welcomed and stylists feel appreciated. Under her leadership, Tame Your Mane has become one of the top salons in the region.

Julie brings nearly a lifetime of expertise to her work. She’s a master stylist and colorist, with specialties in corrective color, razor cuts, hair extensions, wigs, hair restoration, upstyles, and holds advanced certifications in multiple extension systems.

Julie’s journey started after graduating from Claysburg High School and earning a degree in Business Management. She went on to complete her cosmetology training at Altoona Beauty School, where she discovered that doing hair wasn’t just a skill, it was her passion.

She continues to travel nationwide for workshops, hair shows, and advanced training, always pushing herself and her team to grow and stay current. She believes in having fun, staying inspired, and creating beauty every day.

Her best advice? Find something you love so it never feels like work.
