In the cold, dry weather, everyone is looking for a solution for dry skin. Lotions, oils, and ointments can offer temporary relief, but for a longer lasting remedy, I turn to lanolin. For dry, cracked, or irritated skin, hands, feet, or even lips, there’s nothing better. It’s emollient properties help to soften the skin, while it also forms a water-resistant seal to help lock in moisture. This means it is great for preventing skin problems, as well as helping to heal them. It’s especially helpful for people who wash their hands a lot, as it helps to waterproof the skin and protect it better than other lotions or creams that would simply wash away. I couldn’t make it through the winter without it!
